Message to the Class to 1971
The world is facing one of the greatest challenges in modern times—a global pandemic, the Coronavirus.  Members of Class of ’71 reunion committee are hoping that you and your family members are managing to remain healthy and safe while facing the many lifestyle changes the Coronavirus has forced upon us.
Next year, Western High School’s Class of ’71 will mark 50 years since our graduation from what remains the only public women’s high school in the nation in continuous operation, having just celebrated its 175th anniversary.  Our golden anniversary is worth celebrating, too, and the reunion committee has begun the groundwork to make this possible.  Our first task is to reach as many classmates as possible and to create a database in order to share information.  We have established an email account to gather classmates’ contact information.  Please send an email with your contact information to:
We encourage you to share this information with other classmates with whom you are in contact.  All submitted contact information will only be used by the committee to communicate reunion plans and will not be shared.   In addition, we would appreciate the submission of names of Class of ’71 Doves who are deceased.  We look forward to hearing from you and we pray that you and your family stay safe and healthy.
1971 Sr. Class President,
Lynne Barney-Porter
