Alumnae in Business

 

This is where you can see what some of Western's Alumnae are doing today in the business world. There is also a featured business each month. If you would like your business listed, please submit a photo and no more than 125 words about your business. You must be a current member of the Association. If accepted, we will try to have your information posted within a week of its submission.

Upon leaving Western in 1975 I developed an interest in photography. I have always loved film. While it wasn't practical at the time to pursue a career as a film maker or as a photographer I went to work in the IT field as a programmer. When I turned 40 I decided to go out on my own on a part-time basis. I started a company called Jupiter Graphik Solutions in 1998. Today it is called earth2jupiter multimedia. It is a true multimedia company specializing in photography, video production, graphic and website design. I can create websites, brochures, tv commercials and business cards to help create a brand for other businesses and organizations. On occassion I also do some photography and videography for special events.

By day, I am the full time webmaster with the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. I also volunteer as the webmaster for the WHSAA. I am also in the process of completing a book I have been writing. It's about an African American woman born in the 1840s who kept a photo album of family and friends. Once the book is completed I plan to pursue writing and film-making full time. Can't quite give up my other jobs yet. As everyone knows it takes money to make films :0)
