Former Western Teacher Honored
Breezy Bishop was honored Friday night at during half time of Western's game against Riverside Baptist. The award, given to Ms. Bishop by the Women's Basketball Community of Baltimore, honored her for her "outstanding commitment and dedication to women's basketball."
Ms. Bishop's career has spanned many years including 24 years at Western where she built one of the nation's top high school basketball programs. To read more about Ms. Bishop's career, click here. To view photos of this event, click here.
2009 All Years Reunion
This event was held on November 7, 2009 at the BWI Marriott. Approximately 100 alumnae were in attendance. The event included dinner, dancing, singing, a silent auction, and multiple giveaways by Luster Products Inc. To see photos of this event, click here.
Western: A National Blue Ribbon School
On September 15, 2009 U.S. Department of Education named Western a National Blue Ribbon School. The honor was accorded to only 314 schools across the nation, and acknowledges Western as one the best in the country. According to U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan, "These Blue Ribbon Schools have shown that all children can learn with appropriate supports," Duncan said. "They are producing outstanding results for their students." Read more
