Several years ago when many people thought Western was going to close, former Westernites and supporters came out in droves. No doubt that had some impact on the fact that Western is still standing today as the oldest, all-female, public high school in the country. The fact that it is still standing today, however, does not mean it will be tomorrow.

Principal Matthews Retires

Principal Eleanor Matthews ended her tenure as Western High School principal in July of this year. Western is currently in search of a replacment. To help promote the mission and goals of the WHSAA become a part of the Association now! Remember there is strength in numbers.

The Class of 1975 Celebrates 35 Years

Here are (most) of the attendees at the Class of 1975 reunion luncheon. The event was held at Timbuktu Restaurant on June 19th, 2010 - exactly 35 years to the day they graduated. Click photo to enlarge.

On June 5 the class of 2010 accepted their diplomas and instantly became members of the Western High School Alumnae Association.. What an impressive group of young ladies they are! More photos to follow soon.
